Editorial roadmap
Does “international” mean only major powers and current conflicts?
No. The atlas is designed to expand across every country and territory without using alliance, ideology, wealth, religion, language, or current conflict as a reason to exclude or privilege coverage.
The tracker contains 249 reference entries covering countries and territories. 28 have full profiles in this release; 221 remain explicitly planned rather than silently ignored.
What “planned” means
A visible gap, not a judgment of importance.
A planned entry has not yet received the same source review, local naming review, institutional template, uncertainty pass, and safety edit as the available profiles. It is not less important and is not excluded because of alignment, wealth, population, religion, or geopolitical attention.
Reference-label warning
Names are navigation, not sovereignty claims.
The coverage tracker uses neutral reference labels for navigation. Inclusion, omission, ordering, or naming is not a statement about sovereignty, recognition, legitimacy, borders, or territorial claims. Before a full profile is published, local names and disputed terminology require specific review.
