Everything you need to know before entering the ward.
Answers about Protocol 5 hospital gameplay, ten-human instance limits, VR and complete non-VR play, adult-only game entry, fictional AI characters, privacy, and the future MMO direction.
The essential answer
RogueIntelligence.org is an adult cooperative Protocol 5 hospital mystery with complete VR and screen play, plus public intelligence-literacy education. The public site, Global Intelligence Atlas, and Dossier Academy remain open and indexable; only game entry is age-gated. The current player-facing world is the ten-location Meridian Ward hospital, not the deferred worldwide MMO.
Frequently asked questions
What is currently playable?
The current prelaunch MVP is The Meridian Ward: Protocol 5, a cooperative first-person hospital mystery with ten connected locations, shared puzzles, and ten disclosed fictional characters.
Does the game still begin in the hospital?
Yes. Every post-gate gameplay route currently opens the same Protocol 5 hospital surface. The player does not transition into the worldwide MMO in this release.
How many real players can share one hospital?
A private group or authenticated full-world hospital can contain at most ten active humans. The simple sample is isolated to one human. Full-world allocation prefers the fullest compatible public instance and backfills places released by leave or timeout.
Do AI characters count toward the ten-player limit?
No. Fictional AI characters are separate from the active-human capacity and cannot crowd human players out of an instance.
Can I play without a VR headset?
Yes. Desktop, console or gamepad, mobile or tablet, keyboard-only, reduced-motion, and screen-reader interfaces can use the same authoritative rooms, actions, evidence, and rewards.
What is the story?
Your intake file contains several operational identities. Players investigate who altered the records, why the hospital is recombining identities, and which independent proofs can survive the ward's attempts to rewrite its history.
Is this a horror game?
Protocol 5 is an adults-only realism-first mystery that may use tension, confinement, strong language, violence, consensual adult sexuality or nudity, substance use, trauma, psychiatric symptoms, criminality, disturbing themes, and moral ambiguity across a lawful PG-through-NC-17-equivalent creative range. It is not normalized into a family-friendly or PG-only tone. The design still preserves consent, unambiguous adulthood, agency, privacy, and low-intensity alternatives, and it never treats a diagnosis as proof of danger, deception, or world truth.
Are the characters hidden human players?
No. Synthetic characters are disclosed fictional NPCs. Human-controlled players and fictional AI characters both use catalog-backed fictional first, middle, and last names, while private account identifiers remain hidden.
Can an AI decide whether a clue is true?
No. OpenAI and MemoryEndpoints are required for successful fictional-character conversations, but they remain non-authoritative. The Python server and authored rules own puzzle truth, access, evidence, rewards, inventory, moderation, identity, and completion. OpenAI may phrase adult fictional dialogue; MemoryEndpoints may recall and store bounded relationship continuity; neither may establish world truth.
What happens when someone disconnects with a critical item?
The server recovers critical shared objects into the hospital instance so the remaining group cannot be permanently blocked.
Do I need a party code?
Only when joining a private group game. Starting a group creates a six-character share code. The simple sample needs no code, and the authenticated full world allocates a compatible public instance without one.
Is the worldwide MMO cancelled?
No. The worldwide districts, commerce, property, contracts, and operations remain long-term prelaunch systems. They are intentionally deferred until Protocol 5 is fun, reliable, accessible, and proven under real multi-client load.
Is the entire website blocked by an adult gate?
No. Public information, the FAQ, and Dossier Academy remain open for reading and indexing. Adult confirmation appears only at the game gateway.
How does the site address international bias?
The Global Intelligence Atlas applies one shared institutional template and evidence vocabulary across countries, avoids national rankings and permanent enemy labels, uses dated research snapshots, and tracks planned coverage for every country and territory reference entry.
Where are safety and help-finding resources?
RogueIntelligence.org remains game-first. The separate EspionagePsychosis.com site contains safety, grounding, and help-finding resources.
